Some women, for example, are facing breast cancer and wish to immortalize their body before undergoing a mastectomy. Others, both women and men, want to mark or celebrate a specific period in their lives by having a sculpture made of themselves. Sometimes, the modeling process can even have a therapeutic effect: it's the ultimate act of self-acceptance.
